Scamming the Scammer

Not so long ago I noticed these flyers on my apartment's notice board which in summary warns the general public of the recent scam events that has been going around and caught many people by surprise. One thing that aroused my interest was that the flyers were not translated to mandarin, something that my apartment management usually would never fail to do in the past.

Then quite recently I came across the answer:

And on the other chats:

And few hours later:

If you are confused, here are the summary:
  1. Scammer pretended to be a guy fell in love with the girl
  2. Scammer faked sending a gift to her
  3. The gift was supposedly blocked by custom and require $$ for clearance
  4. Scammer's fake delivery company asked for $3100 to clear the custom
  5. Scammer claimed he put money inside the gift to pay for the custom, but she needs to pay first to get the gift out of custom before she can get the money from the gift box.
  6. Typically what would happen here is that the scam victim would pay thinking that there is money inside the gift box anyway, not knowing that there are no such gift and no custom nor delivery company.
  7. Instead, girl said she does not have enough money and even after borrowing still short of $600
  8. Girl then asked the scammer to send her $600
  9. After this moment it is not clear whether the scammer sent $600 (and got scammed by the girl instead) or not
